Randall (Randy) Sparks

Randall Sparks

“But you’re the nice one!” – Randy’s sister’s response when he told her he was going to law school. Then he told her it was so he could deliver peace of mind through estate planning and it all made sense to her. To say that he is passionate about many things would be an understatement – but chief amongst them is tennis (admittedly more watching than playing). He travels the world to watch his favorite pros compete. (Rafael Nadal is his favorite.) The Sparks family motto is “Experiences Over Things.” He and wife and three children love to travel to experience new places and things together. If he’s not talking about tennis or travel, Randy is talking about his cycling adventures. He logs thousands of miles per year on his road bike, and prefers to go where the road points up. Thank goodness for Utah’s mountain roads. What goes up must come down. Randy has been known to show up at work with road rash or a fractured clavicle. When the snow falls, Randy turns to the slopes and supports his children on the Sundance Ski Team, reliving his teenage ski-racing days. In between doing all of the above, Randy is a voracious reader and listener of audiobooks, and is always trying to broaden his knowledge of what authors have shared with the rest of us. Randy is also fluent in Spanish. Randy has lived in Texas, Northern Virginia, Chile, studied abroad in Spain and Jerusalem and traveled the world. But his true home is here in Utah.

Area of Practice: Randy’s experience includes basic estate planning for clients of modest wealth, as well as sophisticated estate planning and asset protection for clients with wealth exceeding $1 Billion. Prior to joining McCullough Sparks in 2011, Randy had a solo estate planning practice.

Education:

Georgetown University Law Center – LL.M., Taxation, and Certificate in Estate Planning, 2010

University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law – J.D., 2009

Brigham Young University – MPA, 2005

Brigham Young University – B.A. Latin American Studies, 2002

Lee S McCullough III

Lee S McCullough, III

Lee is the adventurer. Monday mornings often include Lee’s stories of canyoneering in one of Utah’s many spectacular and remote slot canyons, which sometimes take days to navigate. Lee seems determined to explore every amazing part of Utah’s natural beauty, no matter how remote. When he isn’t sharing a story of a canyon adventure, he’s delivering a play by play of his early morning tennis match, recounting an epic mountain bike ride, or offering sage advice to uplift someone. Lee likes to stay active, and it’s often with family. Lee has five children and a lovely wife. All are active and adventurous. Lee values simplicity and is excellent at taking sophisticated topics and boiling them down to their essence to make clients feel comfortable and confident with their estate planning.

Area of Practice: Lee’s experience includes basic estate planning for the simplest of estates as well as sophisticated estate planning and asset protection for clients with estates exceeding $1 billion. Prior to founding this firm in 2003, Lee spent six years under the estate planning tutelage of his father and uncle at a large law firm in Salt Lake City.

Annette Lund

Annette Lund

Annette Lund has used her love of words in a variety of ways. Professionally, she’s revised authors’ words as an editor and proofreader, she’s motivated struggling students as a paraeducator, and she currently drafts documents as a legal assistant at McCullough Sparks. As a student at Utah Valley University, she wrote extensively while earning a degree in Integrated Studies. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, she’s read hundreds of books to her family (her absolute favorite use of words) and edited dozens of school papers. When she wants to relax, Annette reads books or a newspaper (of course!), travels with her family, plays intensely competitive board games with her kids, and eats chocolate-covered cinnamon bears.

Liz’s personal mission statement is that of serving, learning, improving and progressing. All she does is informed by at least one of these four values. She loves business, leadership and building up companies, and her expertise is in business development and human resources. She reads business and leadership books…for FUN! Marnae Sorenson

Marnae Sorenson
Growing up, Marnae saw herself working in the agricultural world, as she comes from a long line of (mostly) farmers. Through life experience and trial and error, she has since found that business is more of her forte. She enjoys a fast-paced workplace and interacting with her team and wonderful clients!   When Marnae isn’t working, she loves working out, exploring the great outdoors, and following the latest news stories. Because she spent part of her childhood growing up in rural Brazil and she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Caledonia and Vanuatu, she learned to speak Portuguese, French and Bislama. These experiences instilled in her a love of languages and learning about different cultures.
